Accommodations

We have reserved rooms at discounted rates at three area hotels. Descriptions, prices, links, and reservation instructions are detailed below. If none of these hotels is right for you, consult Unmistakably Lawrence's hotel listing. Registrants are required to pay for their own accommodations during the conference.

Oread Hotel (No Longer Available; Completely Booked)

The Oread Hotel is one block from the Kansas Student Union, where most MCAA activities will be held, and a 15-minute walk to Massachusetts St., the heart of downtown Lawrence, with its shops, restaurants, and bars.

Costs

  • Rooms: $125-$179 per night, depending on date and type of room (King Classic & Double Queens)
  • Parking: $15 per night

To book at the Oread, please call central reservations at 785-843-1200 (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-2:30pm CDT) and let them know you are with the Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs. 

Bookings for the conference must be received by end of business on Tuesday, August, 19, 2022, after which, the Oread can no longer guarantee room availability or discounted prices.

TownePlace Suites Lawrence Downtown

TownePlace Suites is in the heart of downtown Lawrence with its galleries, shops, restaurants, and bars and one mile from the Kansas Student Union, where most MCAA activities will be held.

Costs

  • Rooms: $117-$129 per night, depending on date and type of room (King & Double Queens)
  • Parking: Free

Hampton Inn Lawrence

The Hampton Inn Lawrence is in west Lawrence across from Centennial Park, one mile from the University of Kansas and downtown Lawrence. 

Costs

  • Rooms: $119-$179 per night, depending on date and type of room (King & Double Queens)
  • Parking: Free
